The system consists of a central cooling unit—typically installed in the engine room or auxiliary equipment space—and multiple fan coil units (fancoils) connected through insulated piping or flexible hoses. In cooling mode, chilled water produced by the central unit is circulated by high-efficiency pumps to the fancoils located in each cabin. The fancoil fans transfer the cooling capacity to the cabin air, maintaining a comfortable environment. As the water absorbs heat, it returns slightly warmer to the central unit, where it is re-cooled for continuous circulation. In heating mode, the built-in four-way reversing valve changes the direction of the refrigerant flow.
